We also had a science project on Glass...Would different types of liquid change Glass?? We tried salt water, vinegar, and tap water... conclusion glass retains its shape and texture.

Started off awesome..David was called to be the High Priest Group leader for our ward..so over General conference we headed to Utah for his father to make him a High Priest...We were going to leave on a Monday and be home that night... making the boys only miss one day of school. Well the truck had other ideas..the brakes decided to go out Monday morning and by Tuesday early evening still showed no signs of being fixed..Long very long story we ended up leaving Tuesday night in a new used vehicle...The next week David was driving home from work and says he was thinking about things and fender bended another car...so while his car sat in the shop to be repaired he left for France..Business trip...while he was away.. the washer started to act up..it would spin cycle and so I was squeezing all the water from the clothes...When he got home the next week the washer died..so we ran and picked up a new one...The boys seemed to enjoy Saturday festivities for Halloween and now we pray November is a little kinder to us...

So it was Sunday evening and I realized we hadn't taken Family photos and Ashley was leaving for college that Tuesday morning...So Monday night David came home early and we took a tripod and went to the local park...This is what we got...

20 years ago I married my best friend....5 kids, 3 states, and 2 dogs later...(actually we have had more pets along the way... 2 cats, 1 other dog, 2 rats, 2 mice, 1 bird, and currently a snake..) We are still together!
Who would have imagined the journey, we have had along the way....I am so grateful for David and the constant support he is to me...My love for him has definitely grown over the Journey! Thank you for loving me....Here's to another 20 or more :)

I know it has some time since I last posted..... This year has been one of many surprises... We have been here in Northern Ca for 2 years now??!! Anniversary of the move was in March....The kids have been great....Easton is in the 2nd grade and has been diagnosed with dyslexia....guess just having Braden with it wasn't enough...What does that mean exactly?? Well they are awesome and very intelligent just a few more hurdles to go over than other kids...Mom loves to read so I read them all school books and they follow along....I love being close to them and sharing my passion of reading is the best....Cody continues on his journey..I admire and love him for the courage he has to never quit....Ashley has been attending the Junior college her and is doing amazing, she has a part time job and truly loves life and being young!! Can't leave out Derek I am proud of him! SO just to stir things up we are moving to a place called Mountain House, CA....it is about 30 min from where we are now....We are excited for this move but I still have reserves....meaning I am tired of moving...I miss so many friends in TX....I do however enjoy being closer to family and seeing my sister more has just been amazing....I didn't realize how much I truly love her and her family...My brothers are awesome and of course my Parents are truly the best!! Do we all have issues...yes but that is because we are human and well we live and learn...Thank you to all those who know me and still like me! I am rambling but only because I just wanted to write some things down....

I guess I will leave you with one final word.... I love my husband...as I reflect on the past 20 yrs of our lives we truly have one incredible story....I am a very blessed woman...did I chose a path others would have probably not but I chose the best one for me and I am grateful to be a wife and a mother! I am having a great day hope you are too!!

SO many Memories....
We bought you in Texas, You traveled the Dallas metroplex, You were 9 years old, You let a 16 year old girl almost ruin your transmission, You were strong when the basketball's hit you in the front drive way and broke off your side mirrors (then dad hypoxy glued and ducked taped them back on) they were surgically put back on. You took teenagers around Mckinney and back home safe and sound. You indured the long trip to CA on a flat bed truck. Once again you learned the streets of N CA and helped precious children get to destinations safe and sound. You endured hours of crazy music, loud laughter and clutter. In the end you did the most courageous thing... You saved my precious baby and helped her when we needed you most.... THANK YOU! May you enjoy the greener pastures.....

So grateful to have my baby girl alive and well..... On to the next new car may it be just as courageous!!

Meet my Geo- Cashers!

So David found a new application for his I-Phone. It is called Geo- Cashers. My understanding is there are hidden treasures around the country. Not money but just little things you can find. You can look up in any area you are in and it will give you directions and coordinates on a compass to help you search and find. While we were in Utah for my 20 yr reunion David and my three boys found there first cash so they are now known as Cashers!!!Even Grandpa Jeffery got in on the fun!SO what was our first treasure??? A small Green box with a notebook to leave your name and date... there were some names from back in '07. We signed our name and left a small pen and a ticket from an Oakland, Ca parking garage! My boys are hooked and can't wait to find their next Cash!!

Braden had been dreaming of going to BYU Basketball camp the end of June '09. When he had emergency appendectomy surgery the beginning of June we weren't sure he would still get to attend camp. Thanks to many blessings and prayers being answered he was released to go the Friday before Camp started on Monday. He did very well. He told me he could have done better but it was still sore where he had stitches. I swear that kid has an on button and no one knows how to turn it off. He enjoyed the coaching staff and met some very nice young men.... I am so proud of my boy! I am grateful for the wonderful young man he is becoming every day!! Love you JEET!!

So far Derek has bball on Monday and Tuesday and wrestling is Tuesday and Thursday with tournaments on Saturday. Anyway He is enjoying playing again so go Derek!!

So here in San Ramon they have a fun Roller skating rink!! Easton was invited to a Birthday party for one of his friends. Well when I took him there the rink just kept calling me to come and skate so naturally I joined in the fun!! I helped Easton learn and enjoyed a little skate time myself. Forwards, backwards, circles and one leg up! I still got it!!! I think Easton enjoyed himself as well!

So Cody had a choice of an after school sport through the school system. To my surprise he choice Wrestling over Basketball. Actually I am not to surprised my Dad was a great at the sport when he was a youngster and Cody is built very similar to his grandpa. So every Tues and Thur he gets to go learn how to take his opponent down and pin him to the mat! He is learning very quickly and had his first tournament on Saturday the 14th. He took 2nd in his weight class. I might add that his weight class is 68 pounds (Yes he is 13) Believe me he eats all the time. I even let him have chips and soda pop sometimes... He is like his Grandpa Jeffery and his Dad. I hope he can take this sport and go the distance with it....

Feburary 12th our Relief Society had an activity. It was called collections from the heart with a few of my favorite things. We collected some items for the children of louse. Wow is it really February of 2009?? I have so much to blog about and yet I wonder why my blog is still back in 2008?? The Holiday season came and went. It was a nice break. David and I did enjoy a relaxing vacation to Hawaii in January. This vacation was so needed!! I have so much to be grateful for! As you can see my countdown on the right says when my oldest child and only daughter will turn 18. She has turned into such a beautiful young women. David and I marvel each day at how loving and kind she is. I should also include my oldest son will be 16 next month as well. What a blessing he is in my life. Thank you to my family and friends who are always there for me! Okay I will stop with the time on Facebook and a little more time on my family blog (I think teehee) Enjoy some pictures.....

So back (way back) on Dec. 19th my little boy became a TEEN-ager!! I remember when he was just a baby.... now he is the big man on campus!Happy Be-lated Birthday to my boy who loves animals, his family and hanging around the house! I couldn't be any prouder of the way he has tackled the many challenges he has in his life. He is very determined to get things done right and is a very good friend to all he meets. I love his young testimony of the things he knows. Congratulations Cody you are officially a teenager!!

So many of you are probably listening to my playlist right now. Let me give a quick explanation. I had a good friend of mine call and say that my music could use a little makeover. I needed to add a little rock n roll. Well I am not one to listen to that kind of music but I am here to please everyone so I looked up one of the favorite bands for my friend and found one song that I thought might work. When I explained this new territory to David he came and inserted a few more rock songs. I have not lost it I am just being very patient (I mean very accommodating). A new song list might be in the works for the new year( I will look into it) Hope everyone is having a great day! To you my rock n roll friend hang in there and know that you are deeply loved and thought of (hope you like the music).

I am so proud of my BOY!! He put forth 120% of everything he had and was told tonight, He earned a spot on the Cal. High Freshman boys B-Ball team!! He is so excited and I couldn't be any prouder of my son. He may be a little smaller than boys his age but very few have the heart he has!! Congratulations to my son Braden!!

So I was going through some packed boxes (yes I am still cleaning boxes) I found some film that I had not developed from my days with the dinosaur camera (before my nice digital)So I took it to 1 hr. develop and saw a few pictures that took me down memory lane..

Ashley was the princess of the royal blue court last Christmas 2007. It was McKinney High school Madrigal dinner & show. She was definetly the princess. Grandma Dunford sewed such a beautiful gown.

Nov. 1 Saturday was California High school (Cal as we say it) Homecoming Dance. Ashley went with her new boyfriend Kyle Higbee. Ashley drove my Yukon for the first time as they went with 5 other kids to dinner and the dance. (Important thing truck made it home safe and sound.) (J.K.:) Ashley said they had a great time!

So this year for Halloween we had a variety of costumes. Including Puss in Boots, Nerd boy, road kill and Zorro. Easton had in his mind for months that he wanted to be Puss in boots (thank-you Shrek). Grandma Dunford fashioned a cape, a belt and we put together a hat and feather, sword, boots,tail and orange dyed sweats turned inside out. He enjoyed his costume so much he hated to take it off. Love the Holiday of dress up and candy.

While The night was getting colder at the maze we decided to heat up with some hot cocoa. To our disappointment the farm had run out so the next best thing???
Yes you see a huge snow cone and churros. It really was around 55 degrees. We miss Texas! The roasted corn on the cob was nice and warm. Ashley is the perfect Vanna!

So the big man of the house is now officially 41!! For his Birthday, we as a family decided to take an outing to a 32 acre corn maze. It was a great time! We definetly had a work out as we searched around to find our way out! It was a little chilly so We know we are not in Texas anymore. We also took along one of Derek's new friends London.

Who eats more sweets? I use to. As of late I have given up almost everything.
Who said I love you first? He did.
Who is taller? He is
Who can sing the best? That would be me. He tries real hard though.
Who is smarter? He is for sure, Unless it is finding something in the house,car or garage.
Who does the laundry? That would be me! He once called me if he could put different colors together to save on coins. He was living in California and I think he wanted me to know he missed me.
Who pays the bills? Well it is mixed. Ones online he does and mail in checks would be me. Can be confusing but we make it work.
Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? That would be me. It is closest to the alarm.To the door for sick kids and if he doesn't sleep on his left side facing the wall I get a symphony of snoring all night.
Who mows the lawn? Before we left Texas I did. Here in California our renters pay for lawn service!!
Who cooks dinner? That would be me and I hate it. I hate the dreaded ? "Whats for dinner?"
Who drives? We take turns
Who is the first to admit when they are wrong? I am stubborn thanks to my father and mother. David hates confrontations so he says sorry quite a bit. He is the best!
Who kissed who first? He kissed me. He was a returned missionary and I had him hooked.
Who asked who out first? He asked me out with the help of a friend he was to shy to ask me out.It was cute and he claims he didn't plan it.
Who wears the pants? He thinks he does and most times he does but when he leaves on business trips I wear them well and have a hard time giving them up when he gets home.
My man is my rock and I am grateful to him for who he is and what he does for his family! Thank you sweetie for loving me!

How do people become so creative?

Is it something you are born with? Is it something you learn? When I see something creative I think to myself" wow that's a lot of clean up"! I just want those of you who do such amazing things with your creative talent. Carry on I love to see your projects and know that I didn't have to clean up after that project. Who knows I might even buy that adorable craft off your hands and once again you will reap the benefits of your crafty minds.

Hello everyone.
I just needed to write a few words. I learned mid marriage I had to be stronger than I thought I was. I have had to learn to do many things on my own. Once again David is out of the country leaving me to tend the troops here at home. I never thought repeating 6th and 7th grade could be so frustrating. I am glad Ashley and Braden are up on their math skills. Cody is in Pre-Algebra. When he says Mom I have Math homework I look at his adorable face and it is usually followed with a "Wait until your father gets home"!! HOwever with daddy gone I thought to myself how bad can it possibly be? Really pre-algebra was something I got through once right? I took a look at the book and then called Braden and Ashley to help their brother with his homework!!! So am I going to ever get back to College?? I hope Cody, Derek and Easton are around to help and they don't give me the" Wait until you husband comes home"!!

A "Yankee" week

So for Braden, David and I have been working on a surprise for the last 2 years or so. It is finally here. David and Braden flew to New York to see the Yankees play the Red socks in the Yankee Stadium. This is the last year the New York Yankee baseball team will play at Yankee Stadium. After this Baseball season it will be torn down. It will then became parking for the new stadium across the street.
Braden could not sleep last night. Dad and son left this morning around 4:30 am.
I received a phone call this afternoon that they were leaving Minneapolis and heading to New York!! I think I might be more excited than both of them put together!!(okay,
maybe not) I am still very happy things have worked out so we could grant Braden a big wish....

I will let you know how things go! GO YANKEES!!!

Bennihanas who??

THe first day of school was only half a day. I had a friend call and ask me if I wanted to take our kids out for lunch to celebrate the 1st day down. "Sure" I said. She then told me she loves to take her kids to Bennihana's. So I took my kids for a new adventure... The food was pretty good. However my kids will probably always be Mcdonalds and playground kids.

So August 25, 2008 many changes occurred in our home. One child off on her senior year and one child begins all day school. As I took these pictures I became slightly teary.
I can't believe I am the mother of a Senior in High school, a Freshman in High school,a seventh grader, a sixth grader and one in first grade. I love my children so very much. I love their accomplishments. I love seeing them become unique and loving people. As they try to find their way in life and rely less and less on their parents (not too much though) I enjoy watching them try to spread their tiny wings and even try to fly on their own. SO the family made the trek to Utah starting July 23rd. Actually it was just the kids and myself, David had left the Saturday before for Europe. It was a different kinda trek it took us only 1 day instead of the 2 very long days it took when we lived in Texas. There were many things we did! In my home town of Sunset, Utah we joined in on the festivities of Sunset Fun Days!!
Easton was awarded 2nd place in the kids tractor pull, we tried our first deep fried oreo's (they were surprisingly good), we watched fireworks and went the the Ogden pioneer 24th parade.

SO yesterday I had a stupid moment!
I went in to a mail America store to have the notary sign the closing papers on our texas home.
When she was telling me how her family had moved around alot and then came to settle here in CA. Her husband had retired and she continued working. I then told her it was okay that is what kept her young. A little old man was behind me and I saw him and asked if that wasn't true? He then said well I don't know I haven't worked for quite sometime. I then said well then it is your wife that keeps you young! He then said well she recently passed away. I said I was sorry and then stupid me said well I am sure your children help you. He then said well I only have one left.
Then I said oh I am so sorry. He then told me how his son had been up skiing in Aspen Co and drove off a cliff. There was a long pause of awkward silence and then the lady in the store thanked me for coming in and to have a nice day.

My foot tastes awful.....

The move and how we are adjusting

Hello everyone from sunny California!! Well we arrived here in San Ramon March 23rd 2008. It has taken awhile for everyone to get adjusted. The kids ended the school year here. It was interesting to see the difference in schools. First Easton went back to half day kindergarten. He was a little bored. Some of the projects that the kids had to do were very intense. Derek had a state of California report, along with 3-d model of the state. Cody had to make an ethnic food from asia, and report on cultural experience. Braden had a 24 page reflection scrap book due. Ashley had so many things she was so glad she was able to keep her head above water!
We as a family are enjoying the area and it's great to see mountains again. Actually we live on a mountain range. Our backyard in our rental home backs up to a creek. We have seen 2 deer and can smell skunks all the time. I think rocky is learning the smell is bad. Thank heavens he hasn't met a skunk.
David is enjoying his new job!! Everyone he works with is great and he has many friends.
I just love my kids and love being their mom.
This next week we are leaving for Utah. I hope to have some great pictures for my blog. My goal is to keep this up and running so everyone will know what the family is up to!!

Cleaning House

Well it is Monday July 21, I told the kids that before we could leave for Utah on Wed they would need to help get the house clean. They have been up since 8:00 am and are cleaning up a storm. Thats why I am sitting here working on my blog. I have so many things to figure out....

I have received papers for the closing on our house in Texas. In one day we will no longer be owners of a house. Now comes the time to save for our house here in CA. There might also be a vacation in the future.. We'll see.
